My fair lady

Audrey Hepburn and Rex Harrison in My Fair Lady

EventsEdit

Bob Hope returns to hosting duties at the Civic Auditorium in Hollywood. Audrey Hepburn was snubbed for Best Actress nomination for My Fair Lady because of the fact that she replaced Julie Andrews in that role and was dubbed by infamous soprano playback singer Marni Nixon. It had a lot of celebrities participating in the event including a performance by Judy Garland singing Cole Porter songs as a tribute to the recently late composer. William Tuttle was the only one to receive any honorary Oscars this year. He earned one for makeup work on 7 Faces of Dr. Lao.
